The Ministry of Education is improving its services for children and young people who require additional support to meet their learning needs.
We are seeking a Specialist Service Lead to join our existing team.
This position will work as part of a team to ensure that support and subject matter expertise is provided across all regions. The role will be preferably based in Wellington at our National Office, although applicants from other locations will be considered.
Key responsibilities will be to support practice improvement and maintain relationships to support the development and dissemination of evidence informed best practice. This role will have a focus on workforce development.
We are looking for someone with experience in:
- providing culturally responsive learning support, in particular meeting the needs of Māori akonga and whānau
- leading and supporting practice change
- leading and supporting practice networks/professional learning communities
- analysis and synthesis of research and best evidence into practice and ability to translate into practice through resource development, coaching and mentoring.
Your post graduate study (beyond initial qualification) will support you in this role, in both critiquing and applying evidence in your work.
You will have a strong commitment to implementing Ka Hikitia and ensuring positive and sustainable change for Māori akonga. You will have demonstrated ability to work strategically across specialist disciplines and collaboratively with educators, with an excellent under standing of the Learning Support Delivery Model.
