Regional Manager - Oranga Tamariki, East Coast

We have a great opportunity for a motivated senior leader to join a committed and dynamic team of eight Regional and General Managers reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive - Services for Children and Families.

You will be able to build and lead a high performing region to deliver a number of key services including the assessment of the supports required for those in need of care.

The Regional Manager will lead liaison and collaboration partners including iwi and Māori organisations, non-government organisations and key agencies such as Ministry of Social Development and the District Health Authority.

With accountability for a significant regional budget and the effective operation of seven social work locations (from Tairawhiti to the Wairarapa), the role will require a focus on the provision of exceptional services to families that need the Ministry's support. You will have strong and proven people leadership credentials, with the ability to lead change to ensure that the Ministry serves communities well and achieves greater effectiveness in service delivery to tamariki and their whānau.

To be considered for this role you will be a dynamic leader who has a considerable experience in process improvement, leading people, implementing change and managing cross functional relationships. We are looking for someone with a good understanding and a proven track record in working and building strategic relationships with diverse communities and cultural groups. Having the ability to influence and motivate transformative change within a complex environment with a variety of audiences will be key to your success.
