Applicants must be fluent speakers of Te Reo Māori, have an advanced knowledge of tikanga and mātauranga Māori as this is a total immersion programme. 

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa has embraced the demands and challenges that Covid-19 has presented.

We want you if you are energetic, motivated, computer savvy, determined and passionate to teach using Mātauranga Māori methodologies to facilitate the learning of our keen and eager tauira. We are currently delivering our programmes using our online systems and platforms and will move to a blended style of learning as alert level changes allow.

You will have access to our awesome support networks - management, student support, and IT to name a few. These services will assist you to support our tauira to thrive in their transformational, educational learning journeys. 

Applicants will have a minimum of:

  • Diploma (Level 5) qualification in te reo Māori or higher
  • Either attest equivalence for NZQA standards required to assess and moderate this
  • programme OR hold the NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (L4)
  • NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
  • A full clean driver’s licence
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
