Ngā taipitopito tūranga - Role details
We're looking for a dedicated and community-focused Community Centre Coordinator to join the community centres network. This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday to Friday. You will be required to work flexibly across the network of community centres, supporting activity, relationships and service delivery where it is most needed.

As the heart of the Community Centre, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming space where people feel connected, supported, and inspired. This isn't just about managing a building, it's about nurturing a thriving community.
Your daily work will include:
- Ensuring the Centre is a safe, inviting hub where people can gather, with smooth management of bookings and payments
- Championing the Centre's value by reporting on its use and promoting opportunities for greater community impact
- Building strong networks and welcoming local organisations and services to connect with the community
- Acting as a trusted point of contact, helping people and groups find the support and connections they need
- Collaborating with community groups and Council teams to bring ideas to life and deliver on shared goals
This role is about more than tasks, it's about being a catalyst for connection, collaboration, and development.

You are someone who thrives on making a difference in your community.
To succeed in this role, you' ll bring:
- Strong community development skills and a passion for fostering connection and inclusion
- Excellent time management, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a flexible approach to challenges
- Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a supportive team
- Outstanding communication skills, from building rapport with diverse groups to speaking confidently in front of large audiences
- A willingness to share responsibilities and contribute to the seamless running of the Centres
- The ability to engage with people from all walks of life, combined with skill in resolving conflict constructively
This is a role for someone who values people, thrives on collaboration, and is motivated by the opportunity to strengthen community ties.
We are looking to appoint from $76,778 per annum for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
