We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Kaiako Reo Rua to join Tū Pakari, our vibrant Māori unit. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality bilingual education for our Year 1–3 tamariki, fostering an environment in which they can flourish as Māori. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging learning programmes that bridge the gap between te ao Māori and the wider school community.
We are a close, collaborative team who live our ICarE values of ngākaunui, pakirehua, hiranga and manaakitanga. We learn together and support each other in growing the best learning for our tamariki. The successful applicant will be well supported in their new role.
This position has the possibility of becoming permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Provide bilingual communication and support across the organisation
- Willing to assist the school in its vision for transformative learning upholding tikanga and supporting culturally responsive practice
- Build strong relationships with whānau, hapori, and stakeholders
- Work effectively as a member of the teaching team, participating in hui ā-kaiako and school-wide professional development.
