We're looking for an Inspections Officer to join our City Consenting and Compliance business unit.
As an Inspections Officer, you'll be challenged with a variety of work ranging from conducting building inspections, undertaking investigations of complaints to issuing Code Compliance Certificates.
You will work across residential, commercial and industrial building projects.
You will:
- Spend time out in the community carrying out building inspections across Poneke
- Review work prior to issuing Code Compliance Certificates
- Work closely with Team Leaders and Senior Officers on priority tasks
- Investigate complaints and support enforcement activities
- Keep clear, accurate records of all inspections and decisions
If you're from the construction industry and looking for a fresh challenge while still using your technical know-how, this could be the perfect role. Depending on workload, you'll spend up to 80% of your time on the road, engaging with customers and seeing real impact in your mahi.
Nga tohu me nga wheako - Qualifications and experience
We're looking for someone who has significant experience, at least 10 years, within the construction industry in New Zealand and either holds or is actively working towards a Regulation 18 recognised qualification. You will be a motivated team player who thrives on ensuring we deliver excellent and on-time services to our customers.
You will bring a demonstrated understanding of the Building Act 2004 and the NZ Building Code and have proven experience operating in a fast-paced, technical and regulatory environment. You will be a strong communicator, able to build rapport and relationships quickly and have competent Microsoft Office skills.
We are looking to appoint between $90,060 and $105,952 per annum for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
