The Role
As the General Manager – New Zealand, you will report directly to the Managing Director - Oceania and take full ownership of the New Zealand business. You will be responsible for driving sustainable profitability, operational excellence, and long-term growth while fostering a strong safety culture. This role requires a commercially astute leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on operational oversight, whilst also proven experience in growing high performing team cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the New Zealand business strategy aligned with group objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities in new markets, services, and partnerships.
- Own full P&L accountability for New Zealand operations.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and cost control measures.
- Lead business development activities to grow revenue and strengthen client relationships.
- Build and develop a high-performing leadership team while driving a culture of accountability.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a results-driven leader with:
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles (GM / State Manager / Operations Director) within industrial services or related sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated P&L management experience.
- Proven experience in fostering high performing teams.
- Experience managing multi-site operations and workforces.
- Maintain high team sprit / morale
- Encourage and support team work
- A visible and hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- Strategic thinking capabilities paired with executional excellence.
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
