About the role:

We are looking for an Organising Support Officer (OSO) to join our Tāmaki-based team.  OSOs in our organisation support teams doing union work with their excellent problem-solving, analytical, and administrative skills. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how a campaigning and organising trade union works. You will report to the Regional Administration Manager and your role includes:  

  • Collaborating with colleagues to schedule and determine logistics for campaign events
  • Setting up and managing online calendar events to ensure members have the right information at the right time.
  • Source and develop information/resources for campaign planning.
  • Inputting, maintaining, extracting and analysing information to support campaign work

Skills and experience:

  • Strong relational and team-work skills to contribute positively to team-work
  • Use your strong skills in working with data to understand and solve problems
  • Can work independently but knows when to stop and check-in, as well as knowing when to communicate to a team
  • Supports logistics for meetings with ordering catering and set up/ pack down of catering.
  • An interest in publicly-funded education, commitment to Te Tiriti, unionism and social justice
