Communications and Content Manager
IBANZ
IBANZ is seeking a dynamic and strategic Communication and Content Manager to lead the development and execution of our internal communications strategies. This role is pivotal in strengthening member engagement, enhancing industry visibility, and supporting organisational objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in delivering impactful messaging across various platforms while providing regular performance insights to the Board.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with IBANZ’s purpose, goals, and priorities.
- Collaborate with the CEO and external PR agency to deliver high-impact media and public relations initiatives that elevate IBANZ’s profile.
Communications & Engagement
- Lead internal communications efforts, ensuring timely, clear, and effective messaging for members and stakeholders.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of IBANZ News, a fortnightly newsletter, ensuring content is engaging and strategically aligned. Support the development of CoverNote, IBANZ quarterly magazine.
- Drive enhancements to IBANZ’s website by developing compelling content, improving storytelling, and aligning with brand positioning.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the website to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with IBANZ’s newly established goals.
- Leverage talent attraction initiatives to increase public awareness of the insurance broking profession.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish frameworks for tracking engagement metrics across newsletters, surveys, social media, and other channels.
- Provide regular performance reports to the Board with actionable recommendations to enhance member engagement and industry impact.
- Build relationships with members and stakeholders to collect positive industry stories while collaborating with an external PR consultant to boost public awareness of insurance broking.
Research & Insights
- Commission and lead sector research projects to gain actionable insights into the insurance broking industry.
- Translate research findings into strategic communications for members and the public, reinforcing IBANZ’s leadership role.
Organisational Support
- Collaborate with the CEO and team to produce high-quality materials such as Annual Plans, strategic briefing papers, organisational strategy documents, and user-friendly guides for the IBANZ website.
- Lead updates to IBANZ’s website and CRM system to drive membership engagement, streamline user experiences, and reduce manual administration.
Qualifications & Key Competencies
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline (or equivalent senior-level experience).
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in internal/external communications strategy development, including newsletters, website content creation, and digital design oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to lead research initiatives and manage complex projects from conception through delivery.
- Strong presentation skills with confidence in engaging diverse audiences during member meetings or Board reporting sessions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) alongside experience using tools like Mailchimp or Canva for content creation.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with a track record of driving engagement outcomes.
- Experience in establishing LinkedIn profiles or other social media strategies for organisations.
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proven experience in copywriting/design for Annual Reports or Business Plans.
Additional advantageous skills: CRM/membership database experience; event/webinar support; project management expertise (on time/on budget).
