MITO are on the lookout for a Learning Content Editor to join their Qualifications Group. This is an incredible opportunity to play a key role in developing innovative vocational education programmes that are shaping the future of workforce training in New Zealand.

About the Role

As a Learning Content Editor, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our training programmes and learning resources. You’ll be responsible for editing, proof-reading, and preparing content for publication while adhering to MITO’s brand and style guidelines. Your work will directly support learners and employers across New Zealand by delivering engaging and effective educational materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit, proof-read, and conduct final quality checks of print and digital learning resources.
  • Prepare materials for hardcopy or digital publication.
  • Ensure all content aligns with MITO’s brand and style guidelines.
  • Design and maintain MITO’s programme development style guide.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and activities within the organisation.
  • Support the successful implementation of MITO’s annual business plan.

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in editing (both print and digital formats).
  • Exceptional English grammar, spelling skills, and the ability to write in plain English.
  • Advanced computer skills (Windows environment) and familiarity with publication software (e.g., InDesign).
  • Strong organisational skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience with the New Zealand Qualifications Framework or in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
