We're looking for an experienced and confident Security Supervisor to help keep our people safe and our facilities secure. This is a hands-on role where you'll supervise contracted control room and security staff, respond to incidents, and support the day-to-day security operations across Council sites.
Āu ake mahi - What you'll do
You will supervise the contracted Security Control Room Operators and manage coordination of CCTV, alarms, access control systems and reporting to ensure continuous, effective monitoring and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. You will also contribute to ongoing improvements to our security processes. In addition, you'll take a lead role in managing security incidents, as well as support for VIP and event security.
Relationship building is key. You will work closely with staff, contractors and stakeholders, providing clear communication, guidance and support. You'll also assist with investigations, produce written reports, contribute to risk management, and help develop team capability.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, strong health and safety practice, and professionalism in all interactions are essential.
Ngā tohu me ngā wheako - Qualifications and experience
We are looking to appoint between $78,224 and $92,028 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
You'll bring experience as a Security Practitioner in a complex environment, along with leadership or supervisory experience. You'll be calm under pressure and confident making decisions. This is a Monday to Friday position, and you must be available to respond after hours as a part of the Security Management Team. Strong communication, high integrity, excellent personal presentation and solid digital skills are a must. You'll also hold (or be able to obtain) a Certificate of Approval and have a full driver licence. A Level 4 security qualification and first aid training are advantageous.
