The Customer and Community Group is focused on creating a well-connected, engaged, and thriving community by delivering a variety of essential services in a way that enhances social, cultural, and recreational aspects of Pōneke.

The Technology Support Officer role in our Customer and Community Group sits as part of our Parking Services business group and ensures the effective operation, maintenance, and support of parking-related equipment, systems, and assets.

This includes working with key stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues with enforcement devices and associated software, as well as managing and maintaining relevant technologies.

This is a fast-paced role where you will enjoy a variety of accountabilities including the following:

Equipment, asset maintenance and management:

  • Making sure parking technology and systems work properly
  • Tariff file and parking map maintenance
  • Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) vehicle management planning and support
  • Providing support to the Business Planning and Intelligence Team coupled with general administration

This is a heavily technology based role so would suit someone who has extensive experience using different technology software as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

Ngā tohu me ngā wheako - Qualifications and experience

We're looking for a tech savvy problem solver who has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or possesses a high level of technical competence.

Ideally, you'll also bring the following:

  • Proven abilities of problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines while managing your own time
  • While not required, a knowledge of parking regulations and applicable legislation is desirable and greatly beneficial
