We're looking for a proactive and engaging Project Coordinator to join our Capital Delivery team within the Transport and Infrastructure Business Unit. The Transport and Infrastructure Business Unit plays a key role in delivering critical engineering and infrastructure services to keep Wellington moving. We manage the city's transport assets, traffic signals, and deliver both minor safety improvements and major transport projects.
The Capital Delivery team is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of the Transport and City Design Programme (TCDP), ensuring projects meet time, scope, and budget expectations while embedding best-practice project management.
Āu ake mahi - What you'll do
As Project Coordinator, you'll support the delivery of a range of projects aligned with Council and community expectations. You'll work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination, accurate reporting, and effective financial administration. You will be the glue that holds this team together and actively engage, helping to create a positive and collaborative team culture.
Your responsibilities include maintaining project documentation such as schedules, risk registers, stakeholder engagement plans, and change management plans. You'll monitor and report on project milestones, costs, scope, and progress using Council systems. You'll support Project Managers with contract and record documentation, take minutes and track actions from project meetings, and identify opportunities to improve work practices and systems. You'll build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with team members to ensure successful project delivery.
We are looking to appoint between $83,666 and $98,430 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong knowledge of project management techniques and demonstrated coordination ability, along with experience in general administration. You’ll have solid numerical and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and be self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks. Proficiency in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is essential. A current Full NZ Driver's Licence is required.
