Business Support Officer

We're looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Officer to join our City Development and Emergency Management team within the Planning and Environment group. This is a key role supporting a team that drives city-shaping developments such as Matai Moana and leads all emergency management functions.
Āu ake mahi - What you'll do
You will be the go-to person for business support, providing high level administrative assistance to the Manager and wider team. This includes managing diaries and emails, coordinating meetings, supporting financial processes, and contributing to small projects and business improvements. The role offers variety and the chance to work across a diverse range of workstreams that are critical to Wellington's future, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy and impactful team.
You'll also identify and contribute to business improvement opportunities and work on exciting projects, while building and maintaining effective relationships across Council and with external stakeholders.
We are looking to appoint between $63,029 and $74,151 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
Ngā tohu me ngā wheako -Qualifications and experience
You will have at least three years' experience providing administrative or PA support at a management level. You'll be confident managing diaries and emails, delivering timely and high-quality administrative services, and supporting a diverse team. You'll be proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships and deliver excellent customer service. You'll be highly organised, able to plan and prioritise effectively, and demonstrate maturity and discretion when handling confidential matters.
