The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is seeking a Qualifications Development Facilitator to join the Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) team within Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai Māori.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is seeking a Qualifications Development Facilitator to join the Wellington-based Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) within the Ngā Poutoko Aromatawai Māori team. The MQS team is responsible for the development, maintenance, review and support of New Zealand qualifications and assessment standards which are predicated on mātauranga Māori.
Qualifications Development Facilitators project manage the development, maintenance and review of nationally endorsed unit standards and New Zealand qualifications. They are also involved in the development of assessment materials and other implementation support activities.
Skills and experience
The MQS Qualifications Development Facilitator role requires someone with a sound knowledge of te reo me ngā tikanga Māori, experience in working with and understanding of, the training and educational needs of Māori, assessment, qualifications, assessment standards and the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework.
The role requires demonstrated experience in facilitating hui, workshops and presentations as well as the ability to quickly establish, build and maintain strong effective and collaborative working relationships, and establish credibility with specialist external advisors (Whakaruruhau), industry, education providers, whānau, hapū, iwi.

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Proficiency in te reo Māori and understanding of ngā tikanga Māori (Māori customs and protocols)
- Experience working with Māori communities and understanding their training and educational needs
- Strong knowledge of assessment practices and qualification development
- Familiarity with assessment standards
- In-depth understanding of the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)
- proven experience to plan, co-ordinate and deliver successful project outcomes
- Proven experience in facilitating workshops, meetings and presentations
Whilst this role is Wellington based, will consider applications received from candidates outside the region.
