Ko wai tātou | Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join their professional team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be responsible for coordinating TRONM's environmental responses and ensuring protection of the Ngāti Manawa rohe. This critical role encompasses assessing resource consents, organising consultation hui, engaging with statutory processes, overseeing the Pou Taiao team, and developing the Iwi Environmental Management Plan. You'll be instrumental in advocating for and upholding the natural integrity of the region while creating a positive, mana-enhancing workplace culture within your team.

Tohu me te wheako | Qualifications & Experience

  • A Level 6 qualification or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or related field
  • Experience in environmental work on the ground and/or at a management level
  • Previous experience/participation in submission hearings and environmental court hearings advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the Ngāti Manawa world view of the environment
  • Current NZ Driver's License essential
  • Masters level study in Environmental field or Iwi/Indigenous knowledge field desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
