Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

You will be the key liaison between us and our Minister where you will build and maintain effective relationships. It’s a varied, interesting, and fast-paced role. The private secretary has a thorough understanding about the ministerial portfolio and helps to initiate and drive the flow of work.

A challenging, yet rewarding position, the role offers a unique opportunity to work at the most senior level of government alongside Ministers, their staff and senior agency officials.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As this is a key link between the Minister and the Social Investment Agency you will:

  • On behalf of SIA and the Minister manage and coordinate workflows with flexibility, respond to changing and evolving priorities and ensure deadlines are met, often with short notice.
  • Can react quickly to assess situations, synthesise information and demonstrate sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and influence without authority. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and can represent our portfolio confidently and competently. 
  • Work with autonomously, demonstrate self-motivation and remain calm, focussed, and resilient under pressure.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The salary range for this role is $104,885 - $148,073.
