The Transformation Programme Director is a senior leadership role within the Te Pae Tawhiti Change Transformation Office at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Acting as the second-in-charge to the DCE, this role ensures the effective management of the transformation Programme, integrating change management strategies, risk oversight, and alignment with kaupapa Māori principles. The role requires extensive leadership and change expertise to guide large-scale transformation initiatives and mitigate risks while ensuring stakeholder engagement and Programme success.
Your focus will also be on:
- Driving the success of transformation initiatives at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, ensuring they are strategically aligned, culturally grounded, and operationally sound.
- Providing structures and frameworks necessary to promote collaboration and increase speed to delivery.
- Organising capability and effort around a common and inspiring vision whilst simultaneously building internal capability to transform at pace.
Your skills and experience will include:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field and formal qualifications in Change Management (e.g., PROSCI, Agile Change), Programme Management and Risk Management.
- An extensive background in large scale or complex programme delivery or prior roles in Business Analysis, Project Management, or Solution Design.
- Experience influencing critical outcomes across an organisation, preferably within the context of a significant strategic change.
- Exceptional cultural awareness, with demonstrable commitment to participating in cultural activities.
- Competence in te reo Māori, with a strong understanding of te ao Māori and tikanga Māori.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including engaging with governance committees, senior leadership, hapū, iwi, and hapori Māori.
