Lead Mentor Opportunity – Drive Whānau Forward!

Ruapōtaka Marae in Glen Innes, Auckland is seeking a Kairaihana Matua – Lead Mentor to work with whānau to achieve the confidence, knowledge and skills to successfully gain their driver’s licenses and become safe, competent drivers.

Your Mission:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, whānau-focused DL training programs.
  • Facilitate one to one and group wānanga , driving sessions, and practical testing days.
  • Ensure program resources and vehicles meet high standards.
  • Work innovatively to meet the unique and diverse needs of our Tāmaki community.

What You'll Bring:

  • Waka Kotahi I Endorsed Driving Instructor qualification (essential).
  • Competent using Microsoft Office suite (essential)
  • Proven experience in the driving industry, training, and working with Māori and Pacifika whānau.
  • Strong project and time management skills to oversee program delivery.
  • A positive outlook, great attitude, and dedication to supporting whānau gain their driver licence.
  • Flexibility, patience, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of working on a busy urban marae.

Support and Collaboration:

You’ll be supported by a dedicated Coordinator and be a part of a wider team, ensuring smooth program operations and allowing you to focus on delivering results for our whanau and communities.
