He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

Are you a passionate and dynamic leader? We're looking for a Service Manager to join our team and lead the Te Puawaetanga Youth Support Service in Rotorua-nui-a-Kahu Matamōmoe. This service provides mental health respite and day programmes for rangatahi aged 12-18 years.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the care of rangatahi ensuring they receive the best possible support in a community-based setting
  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of registered health professionals and support workers, providing guidance on recruitment, performance, and ongoing professional development
  • Foster collaboration through strong inter-sector networking and partnerships with the local Te Whatu Ora Child and Youth Mental Health Service

This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday. You will also contribute to an on-call roster.

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for supporting rangatahi through mental health challenges. If you're a people-focused leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Level 7), such as a bachelor's in management, Social Services, Psychology, Nursing, or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of experience in mental health, AOD, disability, healthcare, or social services
  • Good understanding of youth mental health and evidenced based interventions
  • Strong leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and guiding others
  • A full, clean driver's license and the legal right to work in New Zealand
