Join TAB New Zealand in a newly created role focused on educating staff and ensuring compliance with the Gambling Act 2003. Travel across NZ, delivering dynamic training on responsible gaming and harm minimisation. Conduct audits, manage risk, and build strong relationships with stakeholders while promoting a culture of understanding. Full driver's license and travel required.
TAB New Zealand is at the heart of the nation’s racing and sports betting industry, providing vital funding and promoting safe, responsible gaming. We’ve entered a 25-year strategic partnership with Entain, and we’re building a future-focused TAB that delivers exceptional services while ensuring compliance with New Zealand’s regulatory standards.
The Role:
We’re seeking an approachable and confident Gaming Compliance & Training Specialist who thrives on engaging with diverse stakeholders. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for educating our teams and venue staff on compliance matters, focusing on harm minimisation and regulatory requirements under the Gambling Act 2003.
You’ll approach situations with an educational lens, providing practical guidance in simple, easy-to-understand language. You’ll also help ensure our operations meet compliance standards through regular audits and risk assessments while creating a culture of understanding rather than enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging Training Delivery: Develop and deliver dynamic training sessions for staff on compliance and responsible gaming practices, using practical, straightforward communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with venue staff, managers, and external partners, offering guidance and support on compliance issues.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Conduct audits and assessments of Class 4 gaming operations, ensuring we comply with all relevant regulations.
- Regulatory Learning: Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations, quickly adapting and applying your knowledge in the real world.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of training programs, compliance activities, and audit results.
About You:
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with experience in training and compliance functions. Specifically, you will bring:
- A full drivers license with the ability to commit to frequent national travel.
- Demonstrated experience working in a regulated environment.
- A proven ability to work as part of a collaborative and close-knit team.
- An understanding of the Gambling Act 2003 and other relevant legislation would be advantageous.
