About Us
The Domain Name Commission (DNC) is non-profit organisation and part of the InternetNZ Group. InternetNZ | Ipurangi Aotearoa is the home of .nz and provides the infrastructure, security and support to keep the domain name system running smoothly. DNC has been appointed by InternetNZ | Ipurangi Aotearoa to provide the regulatory function ensuring a fair, stable, secure and trusted .nz domain name space.
DNC’s remit is broad and includes authorisation and oversight of .nz registrars, monitoring compliance with and enforcement of the .nz Rules, providing a dispute resolution service, ensuring a competitive .nz market and disrupting DNS abuse (in conjunction with other agencies and regulators).
The Role
We are seeking two experienced regulatory professionals. These new roles will assess, investigate and resolve suspected breaches of the .nz Rules and Authorisation Agreements and prepare insightful, well-researched reports, including where appropriate, recommended sanctions for decision-makers. You will assess registrar authorisation applications and with the Regulatory Services Advisor assess and manage enquiries and investigate complaints and reports of suspected abusive use of .nz domain names. You will also plan, lead and report on proactive monitoring and compliance activities across our global regulated population.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in an intelligence-led, risk-based regulatory environment as a regulator or investigator. Working at a senior level you will be able to support and mentor junior team members. You will have practical risk and compliance assurance experience and be naturally curious with an ability to unpick complex problems. We would love it if you have knowledge or experience (either professionally or as an interest) in the internet industry or technical community.
Given the DNC is a small team, you will need to have strong self-management skills, be well organised and be able to identify risks whilst investigating complex and technical issues. Strong interpersonal, influencing and written and oral communications skills are essential. Knowledge of te ao Māori or a willingness to learn is essential.
Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand for any employer.
