Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Our Compliance Officers work in the Incidents and Enforcement team.  The team are responsible for supporting operational activities including coordinating responses to incidents and leading investigations.

The Compliance Officer will

  • act as a Compliance Officer under the Water Services Act 2021
  • identify and recommend corrective actions for any non-compliance issues
  • develop and maintain effective working relationships with drinking water suppliers, regional councils as the consent authorities for wastewater, and key external stakeholders
  • contribute to the delivery of incident and emergency response activity in Taumata Arowai as needed.

Ko koe tēnei | About you

We are looking for someone who has

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a regulatory environment in an operational role
  • understanding of regulatory compliance interventions and when to apply them
  • demonstrated ability to exercise statutory powers with good practical judgement
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • the flexibility to travel away at short notice within New Zealand
  • a current full driver’s license.
