Mō mātou | About Us

Taki Rua Productions is a national, kaupapa Māori performing arts organisation based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.  We produce, commission and develop theatre works through a distinctively Māori lens, while advocating for the wider industry.  Many of our productions are shown at Te Haukāinga, which includes our offices and rehearsal space, and we also tour extensively around the motu.  We generally produce at least three productions a year, including our Te Reo Māori tour into primary kura.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

As our Tumu Whakarae you will lead our small team (3) as well as our wider roopu of artists, producers and other contractors.  You will be responsible for all aspects of management including ensuring effective production management, finance and funding, marketing, Board reporting and human resources.  You will work closely with the Artistic Advisory Panel who develop our programming, as well as with our board and the wider Māori arts sector.

Ko wai koe| About you

An established leader and manager, you have a track record of delivery and a broad kete of skills that will allow you to hit the ground running.  A high degree of competency in te reo me ona tikanga is important, along with the ability to thrive in our kaupapa Māori context. It’s likely your background will have included either events management or arts administration, but this isn’t essential.  However, you will need to have a genuine interest and connection to our kaupapa and our creative communities.  This is a rare opportunity to take a real leadership role in the Māori arts sector, and we would love to have a kōrero with you.
