Ko wai mātou | About us
Tū Ātea (Māori Spectrum & Telecommunications Services), was established by the Māori Spectrum Working Group (MSWG) in 2020 to hold the long-term rights to telecommunications spectrum. Tū Ātea is developing its commercial strategy to enable its use of the spectrum allocation resulting from the agreement between Māori and the Crown. Its Spectrum Innovation Platform includes support for research and development, testing, prototyping and training for Māori on a range of wireless technologies.
 
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Business Development will drive growth by successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities for Tū Ātea. The role will involve building strategic connections with key stakeholders and developing long term business development and sales plans that align with Tū Ātea’s vision.

The Head of Business Development will support the senior management team to lead the organisation into the next phase of growth by providing sales strategies and action plans to reach commercial business goals. This role requires a strong leader who can integrate tikanga Māori into business development to enhance participation for Māori in the telecommunications sector.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • 5+ years in a business development position ideally within the telecommunications or a related sector.
  • Proven experience in developing business for organisations and meeting sales requirements to support continued organisation growth.
  • On a te reo Māori and tikanga pathway of learning, or already proficient.
  • Excellent strategic planning and presentation skills.
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree in a business or telecommunications related discipline.
