Dentons are in a growth phase, and are looking for a Senior Associate to join their team in either their Wellington or Auckland, office. The Dentons’ National Corporate and Commercial Team advises local, national and international clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

The Corporate and Commercial Team advise local, national and international clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. This includes listed companies, iwi, local subsidiaries of multinationals, fund managers, private companies, trusts, and individuals.

As a Senior lawyer in the team, your responsibilities will be multifaceted. Depending on your experience and areas of interest your work could include the following: mergers and acquisitions; domestic and international transactions; business and corporate advisory; capital markets; private equity; venture capital; and/or joint ventures.

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with their clients, where you will get plenty of valuable experience. They are a future focussed firm and that ethos extends to their people too.

The ideal lawyer will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience. You will need to be a strong team player and have a genuine ambition to establish yourself as a recognised professional in the corporate and commercial field. The Partners are seeking someone who enjoys mentoring and supporting other lawyers, has a flexible and proactive approach to work, likes variety, and is focused on fostering strong relationships across the market. You will need to have strong general corporate expertise, ideally with experience in some of the following areas:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Domestic and international transactions
  • Business and corporate advisory
  • Capital markets
  • Private Equity and Venture Capital
  • Joint ventures, partnering and alliancing
  • Commercial contracts
