We’re gearing up to deliver next year’s te reo Māori programmes to thousands of tauira across Aotearoa, and we need a range of dedicated, inspiring Kaiako to deliver our Level 1-5 programmes throughout Aotearoa.
Our Kaiako not only deliver our learning programmes, but also develop lesson plans, address the learning needs of tauira, and assess and report on their progress. Some flexibility may be required for occasional weekend and evening work.
Mōu | About you
We are looking for people with extensive knowledge in te ao Māori, ngā āhuatanga Māori, tikanga Māori, ngā hītori Māori, ngā pakiwaitara, whakapapa, ngā iwi Māori, and dialect differences.
As there a range of positions teaching at different levels, we generally require a te reo qualification at Diploma, Bachelor or Masters level depending on the programme being taught. However, we also invite kaimahi who have equivalent experience/capability who aren’t formally qualified. In addition, we’re looking for people with:
- Fluency in te reo and ngā āhuatanga Māori and ability to lead in these areas.
- Proven experience in a similar position.
- Adult teaching experience or a NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (or be willing to complete this qualification during the first year of employment).
- Full and current NZ Driver’s License.
