The Company encompasses broad commercial activities incorporating water schemes, commercial property, investment funds, nurseries and land holdings.

Whai waahi - The Opportunity

Based at Arowhenua Marae in Temuka, and reporting to the Board with principal reporting to the Independent Chair, you will lead a team of up to 30 dedicated members from the hapū and wider community. You will have oversight and management of all commercial activities of the company, including the Rūnanga's financial and investment interests, identifying strategic development and partnership opportunities while ensuring that future generations have a place that honours the unique history of the region and preserves the cultural practices and beliefs of Kāti Huirapa.
  
In addition, you will work in close collaboration with the Marae Manager to support the executive committee and the future strategic direction of Kāti Huirapa.
  
He kōrero mōu - About you

You will be an experienced and strategic executive, who can proactively manage all aspects of the commercial, financial and project-based requirements of the role while ensuring strategic opportunities of Te Rūnanga o Arowhenua are identified and effectively captured. Key skills to succeed in the role will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development of business cases with successful outcomes
  • Previous investment analysis experience
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Proven experience in leading a team
  • Experience working in a kaupapa Māori environment, or a willingness to work in a Kaupapa Māori environment
  • Existing business networks that can be leveraged
