Ko wai mātou? - Who are we?

Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato, the University of Waikato's Tauranga campus lies in the heart of the Tauranga CBD in the sunny Bay of Plenty.

Due to open in 2022, the Selwyn Street Studios is purpose built for the University of Waikato, located across the road from the CBD campus. It consists of 93 fully-furnished studio rooms spread across three floors. Each floor has shared spaces that provide stunning views across the harbour.

A room in the halls is so much more than a place to live; it comes with a built-in social life, full support and endless opportunities for students.

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are on the hunt for a motivated housekeeper to join our friendly and supportive team in our halls of residence. To be amazing in this role, you will have an approachable and friendly manner, greeting our students when you bump into them in the halls. Not only will you be responsible for professional and efficient housekeeping; you will be part of a community that supports the success of our students.

If you are approachable and friendly, with a "can do" way of thinking, and you are described as reliable, trustworthy and hardworking; then we would love to hear from you!

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

  • Have previous cleaning or housekeeping experience
  • Enjoy working on your own to get the job done but also as part of a multi-cultural team.
  • Be punctual, flexible and professional
  • Have a positive attitude that allows you to get stuck in

Benefits and salary

Our University provides a unique and satisfying work environment with many benefits to our staff including study opportunities, generous superannuation and leave provisions.

This position is part-time, 15 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday. There will be a requirement to work Saturdays.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
