We are looking for a creative Social Media Assistant to join our new programme of Whānau as First Navigators.  The Whānau as First Navigators programme is an iwi-led response to whānau wellbeing in Te Waipounamu, and an exemplar of what a modern Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership should look like. It's about taking a "for Māori by Māori" approach to ensure the heritage, mana, whakapapa and cultural identity of our tamariki and whānau are thriving.

As part of this three-year programme, we now seek a suitably qualified individual who has previous experience in social media campaigns, platforms, and advertising.  As a forward-thinking and detail orientated social media professional, we expect you to manage a variety of workstreams associated with the Whānau as First Navigators programme.  You will be accountable for assisting the communications team with social media platforms, content, and reporting. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Applications will be accepted during our closedown period (24/12/2021 - 10/01/2022), however candidates will not receive an update on their application until after Monday 24th January 2022.

Does your technical aptitude include…?

  • Advanced experience and understanding of social media platforms, in particular Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Advanced experience in managing social media advertising campaigns including Facebook, Instagram, and Google advertising.
  • Experience in creating effective social media campaigns.
  • Experience creating and delivering social media plans to meet the objectives of the organisation and/or project.
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting social media analytics.
  • Advanced skills using Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, and other social media platforms.
  • Intermediate skills using Adobe Photoshop or Canva, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and experience using project management, scheduling or CRM software/platforms.
  • Demonstrated copywriting skills for both formal and informal online communication

The successful applicant will have a strong affinity for the needs and aspirations of our ultimate stakeholders, Ngāi Tahu whānui. Alongside this, they will have an understanding of, or an eagerness to learn and engage with our Ngāi Tahu values and te reo Māori, ka tika!
