About the role:

As the Head of Operations, you will report to the NZ Managing Director and be based at head office in Mt. Wellington overseeing a strong team of 25. This role will be responsible for leading the national operations of the Robur business while optimising business processes to ensure efficient delivery of service to customers.

You will do so by actively promoting a safety culture, striving to be an environmentally sustainable business, providing quality product to our consumers and customers in full, on time and in specification, continually improving the operational metrics of the business, attracting, developing and engaging a capable workforce, ensuring the plant is in a fit state for the manufacture of their products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all facets of manufacturing, supply chain, and overall responsibility for engineering management which includes project management and design.
  • Leading and engaging all operational staff.
  • In charge of P&L management for all ‘cost of goods’ including all purchasing planning and supplier management
  • Planning freight and dispatch processes
  • Optimisation and continuous improvement of the operational flow and budget management
  • To represent the operational aspects of the business to the board

Key Requirements:

  • 10 years experience in operations management and 5 years in a senior leadership position
  • Understanding of bespoke manufacturing processes and the regulatory requirements associated with it
  • Experience of managing and leading a successful team
  • Experience with commercial analysis, business optimisation and financial budget management
  • Knowledge and application of 5S, 6 sigma, lean manufacturing, operational excellence concepts
  • Related tertiary qualification
