Examination Centre Officer - Opportunities Nationwide!
NZQA is looking for people to work as Examination Centre Officer during the 2021 NCEA and NZ Scholarship examinations at secondary schools and kura throughout New Zealand. The Examination Centre Officer role is critical to the smooth running of the examinations.
As examinations take place in numerous locations across the country, we invite applications on a nationwide basis. Successful applicants will be assigned to work at a school or schools within their local area.
We would like to hear from you if you:
- Are able to follow detailed instructions and processes,
- Have good organisation skills with strong attention to detail,
- Possess a high level of integrity, and
- Have the ability to work well with young adults.
Having previous experience of supervising examinations would be an advantage, but full training and support will be provided to successful applicants.
For 2021, the examination period runs from 22 November to 14 December 2021 and examinations take place on weekdays. Ideally applicants would be available for the full period.
As these positions are based in a school setting and have direct contact with students, successful applicants will be subject to a police vet check. Additionally, on 11 October 2021, the Government announced that all staff at secondary schools will be required to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 15 November 2021, and their second dose by 1 January 2022. This requirement extends to NZQA's NCEA and Scholarship examination workforce, including Examination Centre Officers.
For more information, please refer to the attached job description. Please email Supervisors@nzqa.govt.nz if you have any questions relating to the position.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to confirm which Examination Centre(s) in your local area you would like to be considered for. A list of the Examination Centres is attached.
Applications close at 5.00 pm on Friday 5 November 2021.
