Set in stunning surroundings in Hamilton, Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato - the University of Waikato offers all of the organisational complexities you would expect while maintaining a strong sense of community.

The Finance and Analytics team is focused on providing first class financial services, reporting and analytics across the University. The team works with University staff, facilitating strategic thinking, credible budgets and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader Financial Operations, you will be part of a team that provides financial transaction processing, including banking, invoicing, receipting and payments across the University. The role requires you to have an eye for detail, be flexible, efficient and customer focused. The team is also responsible for providing training and guidance on financial systems to University staff, so great communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Due to automation and system improvement, the team is evolving to a more solutions focused approach, this means you need to be open to change and keen to embrace technology.

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Exposure to financial systems such as Oracle is preferred
  • NCEA 3 or above
  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or office administration (desirable however not essential with relevant experience)
  • Experience in accounts payable and receivables
  • Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Salary will be in the range of $49,686 to $61,152 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
