EIT is the pre-eminent tertiary education provider across Hawke’s Bay and the East Coast, with close to 10,000 students, 40% of whom are Māori.
The Poutāhu (Executive Director Māori) will report to the Chief Executive. The primary purpose of this role is to lead and implement EIT’s Māori success initiatives including the Te Pae Tawhiti Action Plan for improved educational outcomes for Māori.
Alongside this, the successful appointee will provide advice and leadership to the Chief Executive and Executive team on the transition towards Te Pūkenga and all matters relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and achievement of EIT’s tertiary education priorities for Māori. As part of this work, you will facilitate, where appropriate, the strengthening and on-going development of relationships with iwi, hapū and whānau on behalf of and with the CEO and managers of the institute.
