The response to the COVID-19 pandemic has put the health and disability system in the spotlight like never before. It has shown many of the strengths of our health system and the resilience of those who work in it. Along with the recently released Health and Disability System Review, this is an exciting time to join the Ministry of Health and help to shape the future of the health and disability workforce.
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for developing high-quality and objective policy analysis and advice that will directly impact the 200,000 + people working within New Zealand's health workforce.
In this role you will also develop project plans and frameworks that drive and deliver on the Health Workforce strategic investments in education, training, workforce development, and innovation. You will represent the Ministry at cross-agency meetings and be able to influence staff within the Ministry and across other Agencies through forming networks and good working relationships.
You'll be able to demonstrate significant experience in policy analysis and advising on complex Government policy issues. You will also be a strategic thinker who is able to look at the bigger picture as well as being comfortable in technical detail. You will be adept at influencing and managing a range of stakeholders and be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the machinery of government.
