Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

You will, among other things, provide high quality technical support for teaching and research, as well as training staff and students on equipment, and preparing and maintaining instrumentation and apparatus. You will also contribute to the organisation of field trips and laboratory programmes.

You will work in a motivated team of 14 technical support staff, supporting 38 strongly committed academic staff. You will be open and flexible with a passion for helping students succeed in their studies. Are you up for the challenge?

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?

We are looking for a driven self-starter who will ideally have the following:

  • A relevant qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering field and laboratory techniques
  • UAV aerial surveying and mapping experience
  • Knowledge of the testing of mechanical properties of steel, concrete or soils
  • High level of knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence

You demonstrate sound judgement, are an independent and objective thinker and have high level of attention to detail. You have the ability to work in a diverse and open culture which encourages flexibility and co-operation. You also have a willingness to learn alongside a strong capability in problem solving and troubleshooting.
