Your new role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Business Support Coordinator to join our Māori Impact Group. With a primary focus of supporting the General Manager Māori Impact, this new position will suit an individual with strong administration, communication and relationship management skills who is confident in making an impact within our organisation.

We are looking for a new team member who wants a role that provides an opportunity to exercise their competencies and expand their knowledge and skills. Daily activities may vary but the opportunity to use initiative, innovative thinking and to make an impact will remain the same, lockdown or no lockdown. The Business Support Coordinator position would suit an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate individual who wants to grow in their career. While at the same time learning about the Mātauranga Māori and modern science knowledge that keeps New Zealand and its people healthy and safe.

Our He Pūtaiao He Tāngata Māori Impact Group focuses on creating new opportunities through the meeting of Mātauranga Māori and modern science knowledge. As such the ability to work in a culturally responsive manner is a requirement. An awareness of the working relationship of iwi, hapū, Māori businesses, government agencies, and Māori research communities would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting and Event Coordination
  • Assistance in preparing documents, reports and presentations
  • Other administrative and project management duties to support GM Māori Impact as required
  • Diary and travel management

Ideally you will bring 

  • Previous experience in an administrative or operations role
  • Exceptional communication skills - oral and written
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experienced in Microsoft applications in particular Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • A passion to build and grow your own skills and knowledge
  • Team player with a dedication to supporting your team
  • An interest in the work we do
