We have a vacancy for a Senior Evaluator to join the Approvals and Accreditation business unit of the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of NZQA. The unit is responsible for managing the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) and ensuring the quality of non-university qualifications, assessment standards and vocational programmes delivered across New Zealand and we do that using an integrated quality assurance system as part of our evaluative quality assurance framework (EQAF).
We are looking for a Senior Evaluator to join the Transitional Industry Training Organisations and Qualifications Team.
We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of education practice and quality assurance to independently manage complex and challenging cases.
The Senior Evaluator is responsible for managing relationships with and evaluating approval and accreditation applications from tertiary education organisations (TEOs) in their allocated portfolio using a case management approach.
You will hold a relevant qualification at Bachelor level or above and have extensive, relevant experience in education and training in the tertiary education sector. You will have knowledge of the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE), NCEA Change Programme and/or Review of Achievement Standards (RAS).
Your excellent communication, relationship management and quality assurance skills will enable you to work well with colleagues, government agencies, standard setting bodies, professional and registration bodies, education sector peak bodies, TEOs and schools.
Strong analytical skills and proven technical expertise will enable you to use an evaluative approach and professional judgement to make consistent decisions for approving applications and provide feedback on applications to influence and enhance education organisation capability in self-assessment and development.
