Ko te kaupapa | About the role 

These roles sit within our Tiriti team, which has a focus on health outcomes for Māori and Pasifika. The team emphasises Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and sustainability.

The purpose of the roles is to support the advancement of Tiriti-dynamic work across the organisation and on specific projects and structures that will have maximum impact on achieving wellbeing outcomes for Māori and Pasifika communities.

The Advisor and Senior Advisor Pasifika Advice and Partnerships roles will nurture relationships, and work collaboratively to provide appropriate and effective cultural advice to colleagues across the organisation that will inform decision-making and activities for improved wellbeing outcomes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. You will understand what equity is and, coupled with understanding Pasifika knowledge systems, champion this way of working to deliver results.

You will be a team player, energetic, self-motivated, committed, and adaptable, able to respond positively to the range of activities that this role involves.

The right people for these roles will have the passion and drive to support the successful delivery of high quality programmes for improved wellbeing outcomes for Māori and Pasifika.

Advisor: You will either be tertiary qualified or have at least two years’ experience as an Advisor, or similar role, along with demonstrated experience and success working with Pasifika communities. We would also like to hear from you if you have passion and heart and you feel you have the relevant skills to do the job. Proficiency in a Pacific language and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Senior Advisor: The Senior Advisor role involves liaison with a wide range of people and organisations and requires exceptional relationship building and communication skills.  You will bring an appropriate tertiary qualification and at least three years’ experience in the health and/or related sectors, along with demonstrated experience and success working with Pasifika organisations. Your knowledge of a Pacific language is crucial to the success of this role, as well as your experience working with public sector agencies and non-government organisations.
