We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Privacy Advisor to join the Government Services team. We are looking for a privacy professional, familiar with privacy legislation and processes, confident in dealing with diverse and senior stakeholders, and willing to work collaboratively to find innovative solutions to complex problems. He angitūtanga: About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Privacy Advisor to join our team permanently although this could be a secondment opportunity and is open for applications both internal/external from within the Public Sector. Any internal secondment applicant will need to have their current managers approval to apply for this fantastic opportunity.

It is at the heart of some of the most important issues facing our country: protecting our natural and historic heritage; contributing to our social, cultural and cultural success; and enhancing our wellbeing by encouraging people to connect with our nature and heritage.
Over the past few years, the Department of Conservation has become subject to an increasing level of public and political engagement and scrutiny. To build its reputation as a trusted, respected, high integrity public service agency, the Department is seeking to further lift its performance across a number of core public service functions.
He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for you to do:
- lead the charge to embed Privacy by Design thinking in the Department
- provide expert advice and oversight to a wide range of areas of the privacy programme, working closely with the Chief Privacy Officer
- support and build business awareness to understand and appreciate the critical nature of privacy and the privacy assessment processes
- provide privacy advice and recommendations to the business in accordance with legislation and Departmental policies.
- deliver effective, ongoing training, communication and awareness activities to meet the needs of key stakeholder groups
You'll have experience in privacy management, skilled at providing robust evidence-based advice, be comfortable working independently and flexibly within Government Services team's work programme. Familiarity with project and programme environments with technology and process redesign elements would be an advantage.
