Who We Are
Nisa is an ethical clothing label with a mission to provide employment opportunities to people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. We make briefs, bralettes, swimwear, activewear and loungewear in our Wellington workshop using eco-friendly fabrics, which are sold to people in NZ and around the world via our website (nisa.co.nz) and in our shop (on-site at our workshop). We stand for inclusivity and belonging, and live by the mantra of welcome.
We are a tight-knit company of 12 people. Our workshop at 99 Willis St is full of life and laughter. Most of our staff speak English as a second language and we really enjoy learning about each other’s cultures and working together as a strong team. We are growing quickly, and we have big ambitions to scale into international markets.
The digital marketing manager will join our small but mighty marketing team. They will report directly to the head of marketing (who is also the CEO), and work closely with the brand & content manager (who is responsible for copy/imagery creation).
The digital marketing manager will be in responsible for our:
- Digital marketing strategy and implementation, building amazing audiences and nurturing customers towards becoming Nisa advocates. This will involve using paid channels (Facebook Ads, Google Ads and others) and owned channels (Klaviyo, etc).
- Reporting and insights to the CEO and the rest of the team on sales & marketing performance. Familiarity with Google Data Studio/Airtable is helpful for this.
- Shopify website, which includes optimising the website for conversion and managing product data and merchandising. Experience in Shopify is not required as Shopify is a minor component of the role, and training will be provided.
The role is part-time and based in our Wellington workshop. We are looking for 10-20 hours a week, with potential for the role to grow with the company. Contractors are also welcome to apply.
Who you are
You’re a marketing whizz who is passionate about data and performance. You’re a spreadsheet nerd, and you love working out exactly what is driving the numbers so that you can improve them. You have a curious and analytical mind, and take a structured approach to solving problems while not being afraid to think outside of the box and devise creative solutions.
You have more than 3 year's professional experience in digital marketing, with hands-on experience in Facebook Ads Manager, Email Flows & eDMs, Google Analytics, and ideally Google Ads budgets. In fact, you feel like you could use these platforms in your sleep. You’ve worked for e-commerce companies before, and have a proven track record of driving e-commerce sales.
You’re looking for an opportunity to step up and drive both implementation and strategy for marketing our brand online. You are confident in being the digital expert in the room, and can diagnose problems and identify opportunities independently.
Although you’re most at home in tech platforms making the magic happen, you have an appreciation of why certain copy or imagery didn’t land, and can work effectively with creatives to generate content that really speaks to the audiences you have built. You know that the right audience combined with the right creative is explosive.
Your overarching focus is amazing return on investment, and you view everything (including your time) through this lens. You know how to juggle limited budgets to get the most out of every dollar. You A/B test like crazy to establish what works and what doesn’t, and the results speak for themselves. You are familiar with Google Data Studio and Excel/Google Sheets, and love any tool that lets you track results, both for your own benefit and so that you can communicate results to the team.
You have used your marketing prowess to grow international markets in the past, and may have particular insights or strategies about selling Kiwi brands to Australian customers.
You want to use your marketing talents to make a difference in people’s lives, and the idea of working for a social enterprise is really motivating to you.
