Naumai Haere mai te whānau Koutou    Kaitakawaenga Fulltime role  

Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is a large faith-based, Incorporated Charitable Trust which provides social and health & disability services for New Zealand’s most vulnerable people, including victims of family violence, children and families/whānau, older people, and those with disabilities and injuries. We operate across the upper North Island and our vision is ‘A better life for everyone’, which means we are there for whānau and communities when they need us, with a goal of transforming generations.

This Kaitakawaenga position is one of three unique Māori roles within PSN and is to lead one of the newly formed Hau Kāinga roopū covering; Whangarei, Hokianga, Kaipara, Waitematā, and sites in Auckland.    

The successful person will have:

  • You will have a high level of communications skills in Te Reo me ona Tikanga
  • Links to iwi, Hapū and whānau in the northern region will be critical
  • Affirmation by Iwi that they will support you in this role
  • Work in a way that is very respectful to Iwi, Hapū and Whānau
  • Work in conjunction with the other Kaitakawaenga
  • Able to demonstrate having worked between NGO and or Govt sector and Iwi, hapū and whānau will be an advantage.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and or equivalent experience
  • As travel will be integral to the role overnighting from time to time may be required as will a clean and clear driving licence

Travel will be required for this role with either being based in Auckland or Northland
