Taumata Arowai became a new Crown entity in March 2021. It is set to become the dedicated water services regulator for Aotearoa when the Water Services Bill passes, expected to be in the second half of 2021.

The People and Culture Advisor will work across our organisation providing specialist human resources and organisational development advice to our managers and people. This is a unique opportunity to provide end-to-end support across the employment lifecycle. This includes recruitment, attraction, health & safety, wellbeing, professional development, employee relations, payroll and offboarding. All with a big focus on culture and creating a high-performing workforce.

We are a small and elegant organisation where the People and Culture Team provide a range of enabling services to support the organisation to deliver its regulatory functions.

As with all roles at Taumata Arowai, this is a new, hands on, role within the Corporate Group. You will be working with the People and Culture Manager to pave the way on our employee experience journey and making sure our advice and processes help to achieve our organisational outcomes and create an awesome culture.

With this role we are looking for someone who:

  • Has 3 to 5 years generalist HR or OD experience
  • Is passionate about creating outstanding employment experiences
  • Takes an employee centric view to their work
  • Has a growth mindset and is willing to try new approaches to HRM
  • will partner with the business to provide grounded advice on employment matters
  • can demonstrate an understanding of the public sector environment in which Taumata Arowai operates within
  • has the ability to adopt a strategic and long term approach to their work.

This position usually pays between $76,700 and $99,300 depending on skills and experience.
