Waitomo Waipa Women's Refuge provides support and advocacy for women and children experiencing domestic violence. We are offering a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated and friendly team and help provide a safe place for these individuals while they make decisions about the future.
Whanau Resilience Advocate
Within this newly created programme, the Whānau Resilience Advocate will look for opportunities to engage long term with wāhine, tamariki and whānau to support them on their journey to violence free lives.
Supporting clients within the community making good use of local networks and available resources to provide practical support. With your non-judgmental attitude and ability to foster relationships based on trust and understanding you will provide invaluable emotional support to those in need.
A registered social worker or equivalent qualification or experience in the field is a requirement. The role is full time, 40 hours per week. A background in delivering a high level of service within a context of confidentiality, cultural sensitivity and respect is preferred, along with flexibility in hours which may include some weekend work.
Suitable applicants must be family violence free for two years and will be required to undergo a police check as part of the recruitment process & possess a full clean NZ Drivers License.
