We have a fixed-term position to December 2021 for an experienced business analyst who would like to help improve qualifications recognition for labour mobility in the South Pacific region.
NZQA ensures that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust both nationally and internationally. One of our functions is to evaluate and recognise qualifications gained overseas so that immigrants can make full use of their qualifications in the New Zealand labour market. The PACER Plus project is an initiative to help a range of Pasifika nations improve their ability to do the same thing. We need an experienced BA to help with the planning phase of this, with emphasis on the data, statistics, and information technology aspects.
The Business Analyst we are looking for will be expected to:
- Engage with partners in Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu, Niue, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Nauru, the Cook Islands, and the Solomon Islands
- Drive the data, statistics, and information technology aspects of the exploration and planning
- Work with the small NZQA PACER Plus team to create an implementation plan for each of the Pacific Island nations
- Have strong skills in communication and relationship building
- Be comfortable adapting to rapidly changing situations
NZQA is accountable for managing the New Zealand Qualifications Framework, administering the secondary school assessment system, independent quality assurance of non-university education providers, qualifications recognition and standard setting for some specified unit standards.
