Do you want to make a difference for tamariki and rangatahi? 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Strategy, Rights and Advice team at the Office of the Children’s Commissioner (OCC) as Principal Advisor Māori for a period of 12 months. You will contribute to the Office of the Children's Commissioner's responsibilities across advocacy, children’s rights and hearing from children and young people. You will be a part of a supportive team, and a working environment committed to our Te Tiriti journey and with a vibrant Māori staff rōpu. 

We are looking for a motivated team player to contribute to the intellectual leadership of our OCC work across child and youth voices, advocacy and rights, including to:

  • Bring mātauranga and kaupapa Māori to our work and support the team to build our collective capabilities in this area, as part of a wider office Te Tiriti journey.
  • Advocate for changes to legislation, policy and practice towards better outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi Māori.
