About the role - He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
 
Due to course expansion we are currently looking for a Tutor to work within Wai-Tech – the Private Training Establishment (PTE) arm of Waipareira to deliver the New Zealand Diploma in Whānau Ora.  The Purpose of this position is to provide best practice education, aligned with legislative requirements to develop and deliver a professional educational service to whānau who want to work with Māori and whānau to support health and wellbeing.  The course focuses on social work, human development and mātauranga Māori approaches to wellbeing. Learning introductory Te Reo Māori is also part of the course.
 
 To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2+ years practical experience within the Education industry (Tertiary Education Facilitation)
  • A qualification in the relevant field (minimum of Bachelor degree)
    Sound knowledge of Whānau ora and Kaupapa Maori methodologies and an empathy for own and other cultures
  • Competency in Te Reo Rangatira me ōna tikanga
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and implement educational programmes
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and application of relevant legislation including NZQA 
  • Familiar with the Whānau Ora outcomes framework
