Para Kore is a not-for-profit, Māori zero-waste organisation with a kaupapa based on whakapapa to Papatūānuku and is expressed through an experienced and skilled team who work regionally delivering the Para Kore programme to marae and local communities. The Para Kore whānau are passionate about, and committed to, a world without waste and closed-loop living.
We are looking for a new kaiārahi in the Taranaki area (in and around Ngā Ruahine, Ngā Rauru, Ngāti Ruanui) to deliver the Para Kore programme to marae, Māori organisations, kōhanga/kōpae, kura, events and others interested in education for a world without waste from a Māori worldview perspective.
You will need a knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga, be experienced in working with Māori and marae and be passionate about reducing waste. The position requires an average of 25 hours a month. Applicants must be available to work weekends and evenings as required. The work involves giving presentations, doing waste checks and running zero waste wānanga/workshops.
The successful applicant will liaise with Para Kore partners and investors (includes councils, funders, iwi authorities) and complete deliverables and accountability reports as required.
Proficiency in using a computer is necessary and the applicant must have a laptop, connection to the internet, phone and reliable vehicle. Training is given and resources provided.

Skills and experience
Driven by a deep love for Te Taiao (Ranginui rāua ko Papatuānuku me ā rāua tamariki), the successful candidate will require a can-do attitude, professional personal presentation, be self-motivated and self-managing, optimistic with a solution-based outlook. This position will require you to be an excellent communicator with a track record in presentation and facilitation, must be computer literate and have the ability to meet deadlines.
