Ngāti Kuia is the oldest Iwi to originate in Te Tauihu and descend from Maui, Kupe and the original Kurahaupō waka tīpuna who settled in the area. Te Runanga o Ngāti Kuia Trust (‘The Trust’) is the parent body, mandated to represent Iwi members.

The Trust has several exciting projects and initiatives on the go and this has resulted in an increased demand for time and resources. With this they have an exciting new opportunity for a talented individual to join in the Finance and Accounts Manager role.  The purpose of the role being to work with the team to provide financial and accounts management services to ensure the efficient and effective use of the Rūnanga resources.

Working closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager this role will primarily focus on:

  • Financial reporting for the Group including End of Year accounts
  • Prepare funding applications
  • Risk management reporting
  • Tax, cashflow and budgets
  • Audit, risk, and policy duties
  • Account administration and bookkeeping
  • Payroll processing

The successful candidate will have proven financial and account management experience ideally with a relevant tertiary qualification including proficiency in monthly accrual accounting functions through to preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet.

Essential also will be attention to detail and accuracy, professional and respectful attitude, and strong communication skills. A sound knowledge of Te Reo me ōna tikanga o Ngāti Kuia is an advantage.
