The Senior Advisor, Planning is Te Arawhiti’s expert on organisational planning, leading the annual review of the agency’s goals, strategic direction and priorities. In this role you will lead the agency’s annual planning process, and prepare the annual programme and business plan. Additionally, you will support kāhui and hāpai prepare Budget bids for new funding, lead and assist the preparation of their business plans, and work with them to translate the agency’s strategy into actions. When working with kāhui and hōpai, you will develop, prepare, and facilitate planning guidance material, providing the tools and techniques to enable effective planning and fit-for-purpose performance indicators. 

We are seeking someone who is able to understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, who is able to view issues on a strategic level and provide clear planning advice to senior managers. A sound level of business acumen will be valued, as will a knowledge of the Treaty settlement process and Māori Crown engagement. Previous experience will illustrate evidence of managing or preparing planning processes for organisations, development of planning documents such as annual programme work plans and managing Government Budget bids.
